My name is Serina Lyn, I am an experienced integrative trauma focused therapist and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I have experience working with adults and children who have a variety of issues and specialise in working with those who have experienced trauma and mental health issues.
Therapy can be a very empowering experience for those dealing with trauma. Trauma can have a significant impact on an individual’s sense of self and their ability to cope with difficult emotions and experiences.
Through therapy, individuals who have experienced trauma can work to process their emotions, build resilience and develop coping skills to manage their experiences. They may also work to identify and challenge negative beliefs about themselves and their experiences that have resulted from their trauma.
Therapy can provide a safe and supportive space for individuals to explore their thoughts and feelings and work towards healing and personal growth. It can be a powerful tool in helping individuals to take control of their lives and make positive changes.
It is important to keep in mind that the process of healing from trauma can be challenging and it may take time and patience. However, with the support of Therapy with Serina Lyn and a safe, supportive environment individuals can work towards healing and empowerment.
I offer a safe and confidential environment for clients to process their emotions, build self-awareness and make positive changes in their lives. My role is to support clients in finding their own path towards healing and self-discovery, using a holistic and integrative approach to therapy.
Using an integrative approach, I am able to combine different counselling approaches and tailor them to fit my client’s needs. For example, I could use Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to help you identify unhelpful thoughts and thinking patterns I also use Psychodynamics to see where those unhelpful thoughts have come from.
I know taking the first steps to exploring the difficulties you are facing can be challenging and painful but from personal experience I know it can also be empowering. Therapy can allow you to rediscover who you truly are and the life you want to live.
My aim is to help you better understand your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours, what they mean, and how they relate to your present-day struggles and challenges. Working therapeutically together, we will work to deepen your awareness and understanding of your needs, desires, and patterns of relating, so you may experience a more authentic and fulfilling life.
At some point in our life, we experience emotional overwhelm which causes many people to feel lost, isolated and alone. Therapy with Serina Lyn, first and foremost, is a way to relieve that sense of aloneness and form a trusting, collaborative relationship with someone who accepts you just as you are. My mission is to empower each person by guiding them along the journey of personal growth and change.
